Privacy Policy

Effective: March 11, 2026

Overview

Iqra ("the App") is a Quran reading and listening app developed by Faris Hassani. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data Stored on Your Device

Most of your data stays entirely on your device and is never sent to any server:

Data Sent to Our Servers

Certain premium features require communication with our servers (theiqra.app). When you use these features, the following data is transmitted:

None of these requests include your name, email, device identifier, or any account information. Your IP address is visible to our server for rate-limiting purposes but is not logged or stored.

Third-Party AI Services

Semantic search and AI explanations use the following third-party services:

These services may process data according to their own privacy policies. We do not share any personal or identifying information with these services — only the search query text and Quran verse content.

Subscriptions

Iqra offers optional premium subscriptions managed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not process payments directly and do not have access to your payment information. Subscription status is verified locally via StoreKit.

Analytics and Tracking

Iqra does not include any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking frameworks. We do not track your usage, location, or behavior.

Third-Party Audio Services

The App streams audio recitations from EveryAyah.com. These requests are standard HTTP requests and do not include personally identifiable information.

Children

Iqra does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The App contains no user accounts, social features, or data collection mechanisms.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
